The over three thousand unpaid teachers who served notice of picketing at the Finance Ministry over unpaid salaries for over three years, but had to call it off due to the ban on noise making, are back in the news, warning of a mammoth demonstration if government fails to address their concern.
The decision to call off their strike followed a police order directing them to reschedule their exercise because of the ban, as well as a call by the Deputy Finance Minister, Ato Forson on them to suspend their exercise, as government has planned of paying them.

But president of the group, Eric Darko Effah said although an assurance has been given, the Ministry failed to give them a clear cut of the day the payment
will be made.

Speaking in an interview with Nyankonton Mu Nsem Eric Darko Effah reiterated their position of picketing at
the Finance Ministry and follow it up with a mammoth demonstration if they are not paid their salaries.

He warned, they keep wake at the Ministry if they are not paid by the time the ban is lifted.
