Black Stars duoof Micheal Essien and Adam Kwarasey have fallen on the wrong side of Coach Kwasi Appiah's dagger after they were given the chop from Ghana's squad for the Nations Cup qualifiers.
No reasons were assigned to their exclusion from the team but it is suspected that various comments and behaviour attributed to the two players in the team’s camp in Brazil during the World Cup might have accounted for the coach’s latest move, as the Stars begin their campaign for the 2015 Nations Cup qualifiers double-header against Uganda and Togo next month
Ghana will host Uganda on September 5 and play away to neighbouring Togo five days later.
Also conspicuously missing from Coach Appiah’s are suspended duo of Sulley Muntari and Kevin-Prince Boateng, whose separrate acts of indiscipline at the World Cup got them an indefinite suspension from the team.
Leicester Cuty’s Jeffery Schlupp and midfielder David Accam, both of whom missed the World Cup train, have found their way back into the team just as Spain-based goalkeeper Razak Braimah, Yusif Chibsah, Awal Mohammed, Solomon Asante and Edwin Gyimah, all of whom have been out of the team for some time now.
Ghana has been drawn in Group E alongside Togo, Uganda and Sierra Leone for the qualifiers.
