Overview: The Linchpin is the start of a story in which Tech Sergeant Harlin comes face to face with a challenge to humanity's existence and the threat of destruction. Humans are the invading force in the galaxy; they must change or destroy themselves. Harlin is a first hand witness of the ruthless nature of his species, but as a human he doesn't see or question the actions which affect worlds.
The Interplanetary Military Force (IMF) has traveled throughout the Orion Spur of the Milky Way Galaxy for hundreds of light years and over ten generations. On their journey they harvest the resources of each planet they encounter; leaving these planets stripped and dead.
