African hunters have a clever way of trapping monkeys.

They slice a coconut in two, hollow it out, and in one half of the shell cut a hole just big enough for a monkey's hand to pass through. Then they place an orange in the other coconut half before fastening together the two halves of the coconut shell. Finally, they secure the coconut to a tree with a rope, retreat into the jungle, and wait.

Sooner or later, an unsuspecting monkey swings by, smells the delicious orange, and discovers its location inside the coconut. The monkey then slips his hand through the small hole, grasps the orange, and tries to pull it through the hole. Of course, the orange won't come out; it's too big for the hole. To no avail the persistent monkey continues to pull and pull, never realizing the danger he is in.

While the monkey struggles with the orange, the hunters simply stroll in and capture the monkey by throwing a net over him. As long as the monkey keeps his fist wrapped around the orange, the monkey is trapped.

It's too bad the poor monkey could save its own life if it would only let go of the orange. It rarely occurs to a monkey, however, that it can't have both the orange and its freedom. That delicious orange becomes a deadly trap.

Jesus said, "You cannot serve both God and money." Now whats you view?

This also show why men are super intelligent, inventing a way to hunt and catch monkeys, this is really interesting.

Just like the monkeys, some men are stuck in the past holding unto a bad ideas and thing thats does not worth their time. and eventually brings their downfall.

Can some men be put in the category the monkeys?

Basically, most men are like these monkeys. The monkey could have saved its own life by letting go of the orange. WHY? did it then hold on and perish, i think its as a result of greed. It doesnt want that orange to pass it by. We are all laughing at the monkeys percieved foolishness but lets ask ourselves how many of us would fall prey to a one million dollar trap of this nature. So yes PD a lot of men can be put in this category of the monkeys in my opinion.

Ad3n @Dagobert   Twisted Evil  Twisted Evil 1 million dollars paaa, why? you wont about 50% of the world population to fall Victim to a trap of this nature if putting to the test you just provided...  Half population of Ghana might also fail this test because of greed

not sure Imagining you have seen 1 million dollars inside a box, but the box have just one entrance which is just about the size of palm(hand), you have just one chance to put your hand inside the box a drag as much money as you can, you will see how people will struggle to bring out as much as the can grab in their hand because of greed... "THE STRUGGLE IS ALL THE TRAP NEEDS TO CATCH YOU".

lol!

Lol For a trap to effective, it must harbour something that is irresistible to its target, that's why I used the one million dollars for an example. We humans are a lot like the monkeys if not the same. I think the hilarious aspect of the story is clouding the wise message it delivers. As he summed it up at the end, "You can't serve two masters ".The message is top notch.
