Shata Wale is in the UK to perform tomorrow alongside PSquare and Flavour for Dance Afrique in the Wembley Arena.

Police invade Shatta Wale’s hotel room 88674384.295

He update his Facebook status about Police entering his hotel room. It reads ‘Police in my hotel room …calm down everything will be fine..bulldog is talking to them…tings under control…’

By law, British Police can do the following to any individual in the UK. Stop and account

The police can stop anyone in a public place and ask you to account for yourself. For example, you could be asked to account for your actions, behaviour, presence in an area or possession of anything. When the police stop you and ask you for an explanation, you don’t need to provide your personal details. The police do not have to make a record or give you a receipt. But you may be asked to give your ethnicity.

Stop and search

The police can stop and search any person, vehicle, and anything in or on the vehicle for certain items. However, before they stop and search they must have reasonable grounds for suspecting that they will find: Stolen goods, or drugs, or an offensive weapon, or any article made or adapted for use in certain offences, for example a burglary or theft, or knives, or items which could damage or destroy property, for example spray paint cans.

Powers of entry

Police can only enter premises without a warrant if a serious or dangerous incident has taken place.

Situations in which the police can enter premises without a warrant include when they want to:

Deal with a breach of the peace or prevent it, enforce an arrest warrant; arrest a person in connection with certain offences; recapture someone who has escaped from custody; save life or prevent serious damage to property.

Shatta Wale hasn’t revealed why the entry happened in his case. We suspect noise making as the artist of the year might probably be gearing up for tomorrows concert.

Oh yeah, thats how the police work and in my opinion, I agree to it that it may be as a result of noise making thats why the police went to his hotel room.

I guess the saying ''you cannot do this in UK'' (or any other developed country) that comes up when someone is doing something wrong is very true. Shata must have thought he had the same liberties he has in Ghana so he could make all the noise he wants. The UK is not like Ghana where any Tom, Dick or Harry can just mount tents in the middle of the street, open loud speakers and blast deafening sounds into our ears all in the name of funerals, some even as early as 3:00am and nobody bats an eyelid. Churches are no different, they try to make as much noise as they can with their cheap instruments, as if doing so will open up the heavens. There are no laws whatsoever preventing these people from blowing up our ear drums, even if there are, no one enforces them.
