Tension in Brong Ahafo town after NDC, NPP clash

A combined team of heavily armed police and military personnel has been deployed to the Brong Ahafo Region town of Sakore following a bloody clash between supporters of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC).



The supporters of the two political parties attacked each other with clubs and machetes last Monday, reports indicate.

A supporter of NDC Kwame Fosu, 27, also known as Kwame Matso, according GNA reports, suffered multiple cutlass wounds and has been rushed to the Goaso Government Hospital.

Assemblyman for Sakore North, Stephen Akowua, said the reason for the clash is unknown, but said majority of young men have fled the town.

ACP Patrick Adusei-Sarpong, Deputy Regional Police Commander, told Joy News Wednesday morning, although calm has returned to the Sakore township, the police is on high alert to avert an escalation of the violence.

Describing the situation as unfortunate, he revealed that an investigation has also commenced to apprehend and prosecute the perpetrators.

why does brothers and sister fight against each other because of politicians?
these so called politicians are those behind all these but will come out to ask questions like ,
who caused it?
why did it happen?
when did it start?
what wrong with them and to prove politicians are hypocrites, they will tell the general public they want peace.

i will not blame these two parties for their rude reactions towards each other but rather we the qualified voters who have not realised that it is high time we voted them out of power.we should at least change for the other parties to take over just to serve as a lesson to npp and ndc.
