ARSENE WENGER has held talks with Paris Saint-Germain's Adrien Rabiot to try and persuade him to choose Arsenal over Chelsea this summer
Reports in France suggest that PSG have now given Rabiot permission to hold talks with the Gunners over a possible move.
And it is suggested that Arsene Wenger has spoken personally to the player to reinforce his desire to bring Rabiot to the Emirates before the start of next month.
PSG are thought to want £5.5m to let the 19-year-old leave this summer and Arsenal are reportedly willing to pay that amount.
However the Gunners are certain to face competition for the exciting prospect with Chelsea known to be keen and Juventus and Roma both also monitoring the situation.
Indeed, the Serie A duo have both - like the Gunners - been given permission to talk to the youngster's agent and mother Veronique Rabiot about a move.
Rabiot has previously declared an interest in a move to Juve, but it seems that Wenger hopes to persuade him to head to north London instead.
Rabiot's current deal expires in 2015 but he has already rejected fresh terms at the Parc des Princes on three occasions.
