CARLO ANCELOTTI has declared the transfer window shut for Real Madrid and insists they will be keeping Sami Khedira and Angel Di Maria despite interest from Arsenal and Manchester United
The duo have been heavily linked with moves to the Premier League but the former Chelsea boss seems to have killed off those hopes.
Di Maria has been the subject of interest, and reported bids of around £45m from United and PSG, while Khedira, into the last year of his contract, was thought to be allowed to leave the Bernabeu for around £8m.
United are desperate to land a marquee signing, particularly after their opening day defeat to Swansea City, but so far Louis van Gaal has only seen the arrival of Luke Shaw and Ander Herrera, and both of those were before he joined up with the squad.
Di Maria would be seen as something as a coup for United, having helped Madrid to the Champions League title last season, while Khedira's performance during Germany's fourth World Cup victory has seen him labelled as the ideal man to bolster the Gunners' midfield.
But Ancelotti said: "They are Real Madrid players.
"They didn't play in the Super Cup because they joined the group on August 5th.
"Today's match will be important to give them some playing time.
"The transfer market is over and we won't re-open it."
