Accra, March 16, GNA - The Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Ghana Limited has launched a promotional drive to encourage consumers of its products to get together and have fun.
Dubbed 'The Turn Up' promotion, it will reward consumers with prizes worth over 2.5 million Ghana Cedis.
During the Turn Up promotional period of March 1 May 31, customers can win airtime worth 1.8 million Ghana Cedis, 490,000 free one litre bottles of Coke  and 400 Samsung A3 Smartphone when they purchase any 300ml Returnable Glass Bottle (RGB) of Coke, Fanta (all flavours) or Sprite.
Speaking at the launch of the promotion in Accra, Mr. Phillip Assah, Brand and Marketing Services Manager, said the promo was the company's way of appreciating the support of its customers.
He said the term 'Turn Up', as used in the slogan for the promotion, was a youthful term and a call to action for young people especially to get together, connect and share fun moments.
The promotion, which will run on product packs with a special yellow crown, is aimed at restoring excitement and love for the 300ml RGB and to drive consumption frequency.
In order to participate, consumers have to buy a bottle of Coke, Fanta, or Sprite with the yellow crown and look under the crown for their prizes. Those who find an eight-digit code under the crown should text it to the short code 2120 to receive instant airtime of up to Gh¢5.00 from their network. The text is free and customers have two attempts.
Those who find a picture of a mobile phone under the crown will win a new Samsung Galaxy A3 Smartphone which they can redeem from any Coca-Cola office in Accra or Kumasi, while those who find a picture of a coke bottle get a free 1-litre bottle of Coke.
They can redeem it by presenting their crown to any distributor or depot where a 'redeem here' banner is displayed.
The authenticity of the promotion was verified when a woman among the audience at the launch event won one of the Samsung Galaxy A3 phones when she looked under the crown of the bottle of Sprite that was served. Another person found airtime digits under the crown. The prizes were given to them instantly.
Mr. Assah said the company would drive the promotion with full length TV commercials on all major television stations, radio commercials in English and vernacular, live presenter mentions, press adverts in major newspapers and billboards across the country and urged consumers to 'Turn Up' and have fun with Coca-Cola.
